This is a free Eat Drink Love Ponsonby event in celebration of New Zealand Music Month and Ponsonby Market Day, tables will be available on a first in first served basis.

Paul Gurney and Richard Adams are two of New Zealand’s leading roots musicians, and perform in a variety of lineups both in New Zealand and internationally.

Richard is most well known as the violinist and vocalist with the legendary Nairobi Trio, who have performed at many local festivals and venues over the last 25 years as well as being regular guests at the Oslo Jazz Festival.

Paul is the lead vocalist and guitarist with The DeSotos, an Americana / country blues act who tour and perform regularly, most recently at the National Jazz Festival in Tauranga over Easter.

Paul’s 2022 solo album ‘Blue Horizon’ had a strong run in the US Americana country roots charts last year and he and Richard performed a showcase in Nashville as part of AMERICANAFEST last September.

They also played UK dates including a performance at the St Ives Summer Festival.
The two collaborate in local act The AGM, and play an eclectic mix of jazz, folk and country blues.
